This factsheet looks at Quebec electricity demand and the export power the province has available that could meet the needs of Ontario at a lower cost than nuclear rebuilds.

Despite claims that Quebec cannot export power in peak periods, our factsheet finds that the province has more than enough power to meet its own needs and to supply exports  for 99% of the hours of the year.  Moreover, there is huge potential to reduce “needle peaks” in demand that occur on very cold days in Quebec, meaning even fewer constraints on exports.
