Cheaper Hydro

According to Andre Marin, there is nothing we can do to lower our electricity rates (“Ontario energy sector in shambles thanks to McGuinty-Wynne duo,” May 27). Fortunately, this is not true. Ontario is very lucky to be located next door to Quebec, which has the lowest electricity rates in North America and a large and growing surplus of water power available for export. By importing water power from Quebec and closing the high-cost Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, we can lower our electricity bills by $1 billion per year.
