Donate - help create a clean and green electricity future for Ontario

Action on climate change cannot wait. As the single largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the province (and among the largest in the country), Ontario's four remaining coal plants must be replaced with cleaner energy sources as quickly as possible.

The Ontario Clean Air Alliance has been extraordinarily successful in convincing Ontario governments to commit to phasing out coal -- making this province one of the few jurisdictions in the world actively pursuing a phase out of this dirty energy source. This year, we convinced the government to pass a legally binding requirement to end coal burning by 2014.

But we still need to do more. Our research shows that Ontario can be coal free by 2010. Replacing coal with renewable and clean energy sources would put this province in an excellent position to meet its Kyoto Treaty obligations and set an example for the world. We can do it, but we need your continued financial support to help our small but highly effective organization keep the pressure on.

If you are concerned about climate change, air quality and toxics like mercury and lead spewed out by coal plants, then support our work to end coal use and move Ontario to a renewable future.
