Help Ontario shape up on climate change
Is your New Year’s resolution to get a little more exercise and fresh air? Thanks to the provincial government’s decision to call three by-elections for Feb. 8, we have the perfect opportunity for you. We need volunteers to help distribute our Nanticoke: Canada’s No. 1 air polluter pamphlet in the York South-Weston (Weston Road-Eglinton area in Toronto), Markham and Burlington ridings over the next four weeks.
Not only will you get a chance to get some great exercise, meet friendly people, and explore your neighbourhood (or someone else’s), you will also be doing a great service by helping to draw attention to the link between dirty coal plants with their humungous greenhouse gas emissions and a winter in which you could be doing pamphlet distribution in a t-shirt. This is our chance to make sure that all three major parties get the message that Ontarians want a firm 2009 deadline for a coal phase-out as the No. 1 action this province can take to meet its Kyoto climate obligations!
If you’d like to help, please contact OCAA volunteer coordinator Manisha Pahwa at 416-557-2123 or firstname.lastname@example.org. She will give you all the information and pamphlets you need to help Ontario get on the path to climate fitness.
Please pass this message on to your friends.
