Help us stop dirty coal power exports!

For months now, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has been running its dirty coal plants to export dirty power to the United States.  As you know, burning coal causes asthma attacks, heart and lung disease, strokes and even death. And, of course, coal plants are the largest industrial source of greenhouse gas emissions that are driving dangerous climate change.

Operating coal plants to send dirty power to our neighbours is a lousy bargain — for us and for them.  We suffer hundreds of thousands of asthma attacks and other illnesses.  Their cleaner power sources are kept idle because they cannot compete with dirty coal power imports. This has got to stop.

Stopping coal-fired electricity exports now is the right thing to do. That’s the message we’re sending to Ontario’s political leaders. Through leaflets, outreach, reports and analysis, the Ontario Clean Air Alliance is pushing hard for cleaner air and smart energy policy.

But we need your help. Please make a financial contribution to help us print and distribute our new pamphlet: Dirty Coal-Fired Electricity Exports Are Costing Us The Air We Breathe.  We can’t do what we do without you. We’re lean, but leaflets cost dollars to print and distribute. Click here to contribute $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1000. Your gift of $100 will buy 1000 leaflets.

Change is at your fingertips – make it happen by supporting our call to stop dirty coal-fired electricity exports today.

Thank you for your continued support…

P.S. Frankly, we think it is scandalous that cleaner power sources remain idle while the province continues to operate dirty coal plants.  This must stop and you can help by contributing to our campaign.  With a few clicks. you can make a difference for your kids and your community — cleaner, less toxic air and lower health care costs.
