Kitchener-Waterloo is calling you
For our provincial political leaders, the place to be is K-W. With a razor-thin minority government hanging in the balance, all parties will be focusing on the upcoming by-election in Kitchener-Waterloo, likely to take place in September.
This is a golden opportunity to draw attention to the major fork in the road facing Ontario energy policy – pour more money into expensive and risky nuclear projects or opt for safer and cheaper alternatives like energy efficiency, made-in-Ontario green power, and hydro imports from Quebec.
There are two things you can do to help push our leaders down the right path:
• Sign our petition calling on all the by-election candidates to sign our Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge. Backroom deals with enormous hidden costs are not in Ontarians’ best interest and candidates must be strongly encouraged to sign the pledge.
• Help us distribute our new pamphlet throughout K-W. If you live there, this a great chance to make your friends, family and neighbours aware of this critical issue. If you don’t, what better time to see what this booming area has to offer, from jazz festivals to farmer’s markets and art galleries, while lending a helping hand.
