Phasing Out Coal

Phasing Out Coal: 15-Month Progress Report Since taking office in October 2003, the McGuinty government has strongly reiterated its commitment to a complete coal phase-out by 2007. The government has moved forward with a number of key initiatives, such as securing new supply and making local utilities leaders in conservation, that will be crucial to ensuring that Ontario can meet its energy needs cleanly and efficiently after the coal-plant shutdown.
