Help the Government decide our electricity future

The Ontario government has just announced extended public consultations on the Ontario Power Authority’s (OPA) report which recommends that we meet 60 to 80% of our incremental electricity needs from high-cost and unreliable nuclear power plants.

There will be public open houses and “town hall” meetings in 12 communities across Ontario in February. 

February 13^th: Mississauga, Ottawa, Sarnia, Toronto;
February 15^th:  Thunder Bay, Kingston, Oshawa, St. Catharines; and
February 17^th: Kincardine, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Sudbury.

In March 2006, the Government is expected to issue directives to the OPA which will lead either to a major re-investment in nuclear power or set us on the path to a clean and green renewable future. 

Please be sure to attend these consultations and let the Government know whether you want a nuclear or a clean and green electricity future for your grandchildren.
