Phasing Out Coal: Six-Month Progress Report

The McGuinty Government came to power in October 2003 partly on the strength of its commitment to address steadily deteriorating air quality in Ontario by phasing-out the province’s dirty coal-fired electricity generating stations. Since taking office, the Government has strongly reiterated their commitment to phasing-out the use of coal for electricity generation in Ontario by 2007.
