Be a part of a big green wave for clean energy by volunteering for our Green Future campaign. We are taking our message about the need for a responsible energy plan to the streets in Energy Minister George Smitherman’s riding of Toronto Centre. Come out and help us with our outreach efforts and make history by being part of the campaign that convinces Ontario to go 100% green for electricity.
Last week, Minister Smitherman announced that he wants to have another look at the electricity strategy put forward by the Ontario Power Authority. But while calling for increased use of renewable power and stronger efficiency efforts, Mr. Smitherman also said the province remains committed to costly, high-risk nuclear power. So there is more work to do to get the McGuinty Government to close expensive nuclear cost loopholes and give cleaner electricity sources a fairer shake.
If you can spare a couple of hours or would like to volunteer regularly, whether you live in Toronto or not, please contact our organizer Darcy Higgins at 416-926-1907 x246 or email@example.com.
And remember to sign the petition for a Nuclear Cost Responsibility Act at www.OntariosGreenFuture.ca. Make sure everyone you know has signed it as well!
