Feeling a little chilly? Warm up by thinking back to those hot summer days when Ontario’s power plants were powering air conditioners instead of Christmas lights. Now, get even warmer by reminiscing about how you helped keep that electricity demand in check by enrolling in your utility’s peaksaver®program. You did enroll right? Well many of these folks did and they came out customer winners of the great prizes in our 4th annual PeakBusters contest.

We also challenged Ontario’s utilities to do their best to increase their customers’ participation in peaksaver. Right now, only 10% of eligible Ontario households are enrolled in the program and we know we can do better. Our utility champions are leading the way with strong promotion of conservation programs like peaksaver:

Want an example of just how valuable participating in peaksaver is? On August 30th Ontario’s peaksaver customers reduced their demand by 118 MW – equivalent to taking the entire City of Kingston off the grid.
