Coal-fired electricity exports: Not worth dying for

In 2008, 47% of the coal-fired electricity generated in Ontario was exported to the United States.  This electricity is not needed to keep our neighbours' lights on.  In fact, it is actually used to displace financially more costly but cleaner power sources like natural gas fired generation or wind power. These exports are costing us the air we breathe the climate we rely upon on both sides of the border.  It is time for the Ontario government to ban non-emergency coal-fired electricity exports and imports.  Read our pamphlet to learn more.
