The Ontario Clean Air Alliance held a photo contest in 2003 with two categories:
- Dirty King Coal: photos of Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) five coal-fired power plants and/or the human health implications of coal-fired generation
- Clean and Green: photos of environmentally friendly renewable power sources, e.g. wind turbines, solar photovoltaics and water power facilities
We are pleased to share some of the entries online. You can save copies of any of these photos for use on energy-related websites, in presentations or projects by right clicking the desired photo and choosing “Save Picture As.” If you would like to reproduce any of these images for print purposes, please contact us with the image you’d like to use, your file requirements and where it will be used. There is a $10 charge for high-resolution scans.
Conditions of use: Photos may not be changed or altered in any way. Photos may not be sold or offered for sale in any form on any website, publication or other forum. The photographer and the OCAA must be properly credited for all uses. The OCAA reserves the right to deny or revoke use at any time for any reason.

Goodbye Lakeview! On June 12, 2006 the four towers at the Lakeview coal plant came crashing down. Quentin Chiotti captured this historic moment.
