Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge

The OCAA is asking candidates in the Kitchener-Waterloo provincial by-election to sign the following pledge:

I pledge to protect Kitchener-Waterloo residents from rising electricity bills by supporting an open competitive bidding process for an all-in, fixed price contract for the Darlington Re-Build project to ensure that electricity consumers and taxpayers will not be on the hook for any future cost overruns; and by supporting a full and fair assessment of alternatives to nuclear power before proceeding with any new nuclear projects.
