With temperatures close to double seasonal norms and politicians wrangling about brackets in Paris, it’s easy to start feeling like tackling climate change is a hopeless cause.

jackcrvidSo it’s time for some good news, which means the TV special 24 Hours of Reality and Live Earth: The World Is Watching has come along not a moment too soon. This two-hour special mixes entertainment with stories from many places around the world about action to transition to a zero carbon world, including Ontario’s groundbreaking coal phase out (with our own Jack Gibbons in the spotlight).

Because Jack can’t sing and dance, the entertainment will be supplied by Elton John, Duran Duran, Mumford and Sons, Fall Out Boy, Hozier, Walk the Moon and Florence and the Machine and others.

Tune in this Sunday at 2 p.m. on TLN  (Channel 35 on Rogers in Toronto; click here for other cable providers).

This inspirational video is a project of the Climate Reality Project, led by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. You can watch some highlight clips on the 24 Hours of Reality website (scroll down to below the lists of guests to see highlights available).
