Ask Tim Hudak to sign the Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge
With a very important Ontario election underway, we are asking PC Leader Tim Hudak and all other election candidates to sign our Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge and promise Ontario’s hard working families that they will not allow nuclear companies to pass their future cost overruns onto consumers and taxpayers.
In an election survey done by OCAA, the Liberal, NDP and Green party leaders all promised to not allow nuclear companies to pass their cost overruns onto consumers and taxpayers. PC Party leader Tim Hudak didn’t respond.
During this election, we need your help to protect consumers from out-of-control nuclear spending. In particular, we need you to help us to get an answer out of PC Leader Tim Hudak on how he plans to accelerate nuclear development while keeping electricity bills from skyrocketing.
There are four things you can do to promote a safe and sensible electricity plan for Ontario:
- Send a letter to PC Leader Tim Hudak asking him to sign the Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge;
- Download the pledge form and ask any candidate that comes to your door to sign it (and then send it to us);
- Order our free The Billion Dollar Question That Tim Hudak Needs To Answer pamphlets and distribute them in your riding;
- Use your twitter, Facebook, and blog to ask: Will Tim Hudak sign the Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge to protect us from billion dollar nuclear bailouts?
We’ll keep track of responses on our website as the election progresses. Stay tuned.
