All of Ontario’s incremental electricity needs over the next decade can be met with a smart mix of peak-shifting, storage and distributed energy resources, like solar.

That’s the message from the Independent Electricity System Operator’s (IESO’s) own consultants and one our government needs to start listening to.

The consultants also note that we are currently only accessing a fraction of these easily available and low cost resources because of barriers created by the IESO, including not paying fair market value for distributed resources and creating red tape that freezes out many valuable measures.

Instead of building new polluting and climate wrecking gas plants and high cost nuclear projects, our province needs to embrace the future of energy – a distributed, high efficiency and smart electricity system.

Please contact Energy Minister Todd Smith, opposition parties and your MPP and tell them that it is time for Ontario to get with the future of energy.
