We asked the leaders of Ontario’s political parties if they believe that our electric and gas utilities should be mandated to help their customers achieve all the energy savings opportunities that can meet their energy needs at a lower cost than new energy supply.

Premier McGuinty, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath and Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner all said “yes”.  However, Tim Hudak refused to answer our question despite the fact that his election platform promises that a Hudak government will “make energy more affordable for Ontario families.”

Please contact Mr. Hudak and ask him if he believes that our electric and gas utilities (e.g. Toronto Hydro, Hydro One, Enbridge and Union Gas) should promote energy efficiency to reduce the energy bills of Ontario’s hardworking families.  Please remind him that energy efficiency can meet our electricity needs at less than one-fifth the cost of a new nuclear power plant.  [email tim.hudak@pc.ola.org (and cc. me);  Twitter @timhudak;  facebook.com/thudak]

Thank you.
