We have an excellent opportunity to put Toronto on a path to an exciting new energy future and it all starts this week.
The Independent Electricity System Operator, in conjunction with Toronto Hydro and a Local Advisory Committee made up of some leading energy thinkers – including our own Jack Gibbons – is embarking on developing a new plan to meet Toronto’s future electricity needs.
This is our chance to move Toronto toward a high-efficiency, low-carbon, and truly sustainable electricity system by combining cutting-edge conservation approaches with renewable and locally generated power.
The first Local Advisory Committee meeting takes place this Thursday (details here) and is open to the public, so if you have ideas for how to change the way we keep the lights on in the Big Smoke, come on out and participate.
You can find out more about what leaders like New York and California are already doing from our website page dedicated to keeping you updated on the project, and you can also participate by checking out our Lights On Facebook page.
Here’s to a brighter future for T.O.
Please pass this message on to your friends. Thanks.
