Pie-in-the-sky electricity contracts

According to Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak, “I won’t…sign these pie-in-the-sky contracts that are driving hydro rates through the roof.”

But despite this rhetoric, Mr. Hudak remains a strong supporter of spending billions of dollars on new, high-cost nuclear reactors. This is truly strange since new nuclear is one of the highest cost options to keep our lights on, second only to solar, but solar costs are falling rapidly while nuclear just keeps going up and up (more than 20 cents/kWh).

We need your help to remind Tim Hudak to promote the options that will actually lower our electricity bills, namely, energy efficiency (3 cents/kWh), water power imports from Quebec (6 cents/kWh) and natural gas-fired combined heat and power plants (6 cents/kWh).

Here are 3 things you can do to help.

1. Share our new 4 minute video, Tim Hudak and Our Rising Electricity Bills, with your friends and colleagues

2. Order our new pamphlet, The Billion Dollar Question that Tim Hudak Needs to Answer, and distribute it to your friends and neighbours before Election Day.

3. And if you haven’t already done so, please send a letter to Tim Hudak here asking him to pledge that he won’t allow nuclear companies to pass their future cost overruns onto you and me.

Thanks for doing your part to promote a safe and sensible electricity plan for Ontario.
