Building a new transmission line through Toronto to import more costly nuclear power is going to lead to rising electricity bills.
Instead, we should make the most of energy efficiency, add solar to rooftops and parking lots, expand the Peak Perks program, invest in local stationary and mobile (EV) storage, and build a link to an offshore wind farm in Lake Ontario. These options can quickly meet the city’s growing need for power while phasing out the polluting Portlands gas-fired power plant.
Please tell Premier Ford, Opposition Leaders, your MPP and Toronto City Council that Toronto needs a more sensible energy plan >>>
