This factsheet looks at how much land would be required for solar systems that could meet all of Ontario’s electricity needs. It finds that 4/10ths of one percent of Ontario’s landbase would be enough area to meet all of Ontario’s current electricity demand. Ontario covers a massive land area bigger than many countries. It has more than enough room to accommodate solar systems that can contribute a significant share to our electricity needs.
