Re: Enviro-champ Gore cheers ban on coal, Nov. 22

It was kind of Environmental Defense to host an event with Premier Kathleen Wynne and former U.S. vice-president Al Gore, celebrating the phase-out of coal-fired electricity in Ontario, and the air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions associated with it.

However it is important to remember that the phase-out is largely the product of more than 15 years of effort by another organization — the Ontario Clean Air Alliance. It deserves the bulk of the credit for this achievement.
