Ontario Power Generation is proposing to build a second huge polluting gas plant in Halton Hills. This is the last thing the community or our province needs.

If OPG’s proposal is approved, the 2 Halton Hills gas plants will produce as much pollution as 275,000 cars each year, leading to asthma attacks, heart diseases and other ailments caused by breathing bad air.

It will also undermine the efforts Halton Hills is making to reduce its climate impact, and further destabilize our climate.

Fortunately, Halton Hills Town Council has the power to shut down this proposal ASAP by refusing to endorse this polluting plan. It can follow in the footsteps of communities like Thorold, Kingston, Toronto and Loyalist Township and clearly state its preference for cleaner, climate friendly alternatives to burning fossil gas.

Make a difference and send a letter to Halton Hills Town Council urging them to vote “no” to a polluting new gas plant. >>>>>
