Toronto needs to take charge of its energy future to protect our climate and lower our electricity bills!

We need Toronto to develop a plan to close the polluting Portlands gas plant on this city’s waterfront. Relying on the province’s outdated plan will leave Toronto’s #1 air polluter operating for decades to come.

As a first step, members of Toronto City Council’s Infrastructure and Environment Committee need to support Councillor Dianne Saxe’s motion calling for city-owned Toronto Hydro to develop a plan to meet our electricity needs with renewable power, energy efficiency and storage instead of burning more fossil fuels.
