Our new report finds that Toronto could meet 50-80% of its total electricity needs by tapping the power of the sun.  It also finds that solar panels on parking lots, schools, community centres and other buildings could produce six to nine times more power than the polluting Portlands gas-fired power plant on the city’s waterfront. To tap into this tremendous potential for zero carbon power, we need to pay residents and businesses a fair price for solar generation and clear away red tape holding solar back in places like parking lots.
