You might not know it from here, but despite headwinds (and hot air) blowing from the White House, the renewable energy transition is going strong worldwide. Last year, more than 90% of the world’s new electricity supply was renewable. Wind & solar are now our lowest cost sources of new electricity supply.
Unfortunately, Ontario has sat on its hands for the last seven years as the world has made massive progress with renewable energy — this province hasn’t procured a single kilowatt of new wind or solar since 2018.
Instead, electricity rates surged by 29% on November 1st as Ontario ramps up dirty gas power and builds new high-risk, high-cost U.S. nuclear reactors. That left Premier Ford scrambling to keep Ontarians in the dark about just how costly his electricity plans are by using tax dollars to subsidize our electricity bills to the tune of $8.5 billion per year!
Help us shine a light on the better ways for our province to meet its energy needs — wind, water, solar, storage and efficiency.
Your donation will help us to point the way to a better future for this province, one that doesn’t lead to rising costs, rising taxes, and rising pollution – while the rest of the world passes us by. This is a critical time to get our province back on track to a renewable energy future that is good for our planet – and our wallets. Please donate today.
Sincere thanks…
